This training class is designed for engineers who will be modifying or building models using the ProTRAX model-building program, GCPARM. As a prerequisite, students should be familiar with the operation of a ProTRAX runtime model, and must be knowledgeable in power plant operation and basic thermodynamic processes. Once a user knows how the model operates, it is easier to understand the theory and mechanics of building the models.
The training program agenda includes the following:
- Modular concepts in building process and control models
- Configuring, parameterizing, generating, and running a simulator model
- Model-building diagnostics
- File structure and file function related to ProTRAX system and models
- Building, running, testing, and modifying simulator models
- Error resolution using model-building and runtime diagnostic files
- Control system conversion, as applicable
