INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

To get the most out of a training simulator, it makes perfect sense to be properly trained on its use.  Each of our simulator customers receives Simulator Operations Training prior to delivery of the simulator, to ensure that the Instructors are “Ready for Training” when the simulator is.

In addition to the standard Simulator Operations Training and On-Site Training programs described below, TRAX is experienced in developing programs tailored to the customer’s specific needs.  Our Training Services Manager would be pleased to discuss the available options with you.

Simulator Operations Training for Instructors

The main goal of TRAX’s Simulator Operations Training program is to teach plant training personnel how to use the ProTRAX Instructor Station features effectively and confidently. The classroom/workshop environment allows participants to immediately apply learned principles through practical exercises at the Instructor Console. This four-day training class is typically presented at TRAX’s offices prior to simulator delivery.

During this course, students will gain confidence in using the many features of the ProTRAX Instructor Console.  This includes such skills as creating and invoking malfunctions, logging and plotting variables, and monitoring and recording student performance, to name just a few. In addition, participants in this class will:

  • Learn to design, script, validate, and run training scenarios
  • Develop Lesson Plans
  • Learn the basics of Job & Task Analysis
  • Gain a conceptual understanding of the ProTRAX simulation system, including modeling, nomenclature, and software structure

On-Site Training for Instructors

With our On-Site Training services, we provide a TRAX trainer at your site to assist the plant Instructor during the delivery of Simulator Training. By working side-by-side with an experienced TRAX trainer, your Instructor develops a high level of comfort and confidence with the simulator Instructor Console, while gaining valuable presentation and communication skills.

In addition, the Instructor gains experience in:

  • Making optimal use of the simulator during Instructor Demonstrations
  • Developing simulator training documents and using them effectively during training
  • Using role playing as a training tool
  • Monitoring student performance
